President's Message

The Swan View show has been an integral part of the Swan View and surrounding community for over 70 years.

It is disappointing to have had to defer the 2019 show to October 2020, however we will be undertaking Twilight Markets from February to June in 2020 in the lead up to the Show itself on the 17th October.

We would like to encourage our local community to support the Swan View and Districts Agricultural and Arts Society Inc by becoming members of the society, or volunteering some time on Show day.

Please contact our Treasurer, Di Welch by email at svstreasurer@hotmail.com to register your interest.

The Swan View Show is all about community. Swan View has a history in farming but over the years our community has evolved more into suburbia to cope with the growing city sprawl….that said, our location at the base of the hills and the many long standing local families within our Community has seen our traditions continue to flourish with keen local support.

We hark back to our ‘country roots’ with exhibitors participating in the competitor exhibition categories such as the Swan View Show Rich Fruitcake, Jams, crafts, baking, woodwork, and arts; the annual Poultry competitions and our new Dog Grooming demonstrations. This year Miniature Goats (and Milking) will participate – visitors can take part in the free activities scattered throughout the showgrounds, listen to live entertainment, rock on down to the side-show rides, and maybe pick up a show bag or two...There will be a “Golden Rock” search – there will be four special Swan View show 2020 golden rocks for some lucky show goers to find.

We invite community members to enter items in our competition categories and wish you all the best. Home-grown and home-made is making a comeback. Entries have been of the highest standard and our knowledgeable judges have had some difficult decisions to make in awarding prizes!

Naturally an event like this can’t be undertaken without the dedication of our core volunteers, generous donations and invaluable support from the Shire of Mundaring, Hon Michelle Roberts MLA, Member for Midland; Hon Ken Wyatt AM MP, Federal Member for Hasluck, other individuals and local businesses.

With the Community's support we look forward to putting on a successful 2020 show!
